About Me

You know the saying, " If you do what you love, then you will never have to work a day in your life"? Well, I am one of the lucky few who get to live by that. My name is Nine, (yes, like the number) and I am a licensed Cosmetologist working in the gorgeous city of Boulder, CO, at the fabulous West End Salon.

Working in a busy salon, I am asked questions all the time by my clients, (and even my family, none of whom live within a thousand miles of me.) My goal is to share my knowledge, and answer some of the most common (and not so common) questions people ask in and out of my chair.

Like many hairstylists, my passion for hair started long before beauty school. Hair started off as a way for me to express myself teenage angst during high school. It was therapeutic and before long I found myself doing my friends's hair, then my family's hair, and eventually family friends's hair. My high school counselor, (a family friend) suggested I go to beauty school first, and then decide if I wanted to go to college later. The idea was never even a thought in my head, since my parents had drilled college into my head. My counselor brought it up to my mom and she, to my surprise and joy, was completely on board! My mom got my dad on board and a few months after high school graduation, I was at my dream school, Paul Mitchell The School!

Since graduating school, I have worked in a few salons. Finding the right salon is like finding your soul mate. You have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince, and believe me, I kissed a couple in my search for my dream salon. Fortunately, West End Salon and I found each other at last!

And we lived happily ever after...
